First week of May

This week:

We learned to Waltz.  We planted flowers...at our house, Aunt Shirley's house, and at Grandma's house.  We spoke of love and romance and decided that love is better.  We enjoyed Zumba in the open air of a pavilion in the park.  We had dinner with another family - 20 plates were needed.  We doubled our chickens - now we'll have enough eggs for breakfast.  We celebrated 84 years of life for our blessed Aunt Shirley.  We arranged flowers - lilacs, mini hydrangea, and azaleas are everywhere.  I reconnected with my alter ego, Darla the farmer of  Maple Grove.  We made big decision and enjoyed life's little blessings.

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.  1 Thess 4:11-12

Psalm 61

Psalm 61 Reflections

Life is flying by.  My mind is muddied by the whirl of hormones, activities, dilemnas, requirements, and chores.  It is effortless to get caught up in it; to spin endlessly in a meaningless slurry of time, distracted from the people and moments that define my life.  Yet, there is One who has Called me to a higher purpose, Chosen me to be His Own, Redeemed me from the sludge, and Loved me boundlessly.  To Him I will give thanks and praise;  For He has done great things for me.  I will choose to remember.  And I will stand upon the rock that is higher than I, my refuge, my strong tower against the enemy.

Blessings;
Sunday afternoon with a young family - basketball, baby Ziporah, pepper jelly, making dinner, Pinterest.  Monday morning - Early morning goodbyes as James and Levi head off for turkey hunting, Scones for breakfast, organic coffee, laundry on the line, Hannah's last week of classes, baby Matty napping.
Monday afternoon - school in the sun, naked baby bottom, hoops w/ Mr. Goretti, homemade pizza for dinner, chorus rehearsal this evening.

"So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day."
